JANUARY FAVORITES (2015)

Much like how time movies quickly in movies, I found myself shocked at how evanescent the month of January felt. Upon my reflection of the past twentysomething days, I pinpointed a variety of satisfactory products and items that I regularly used. Now, I would like to share them with you! So, let's delve into my favorite "things" of this month!

COSMETICS

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

In the simplest terms, this product is a miracle worker. The skin around my eyes is quite dry and flaky, and this product works wonders for it. It has a thick consistency and provides intense moisturization. I typically lather on this magic cream before I apply my foundation, as it transforms my skin from a rough to smooth surface.

The Balm Bahama Mama (Bronzer, Shadow, and Contour Powder)

I've tried plenty of bronzers in my (short) lifetime, but as of right now The Balm Bahama Mama is my favorite. Personally, I think that it is the best contour product I've gotten my hands on thus far. It blends nicely and isn't too orange or brown, which is perfect for someone trying to achieve a natural look.

MAC Lip Pencil (Shade:Soar)

I bought this lip pencil on a whim, but thank goodness I did. I'm a huge fan of MAC products in general, and this pencil is the perfect matte, neutral shade. I wear it by itself every day to give my lips a pop of pretty color.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

You may recognize this product from my oily skin post, and it absolutely lives up to its name. I apply it a few minutes after I buff in liquid foundation, and it really does keep my mega oily skin at bay for a few hours.


BODY

Frank Original Body Scrub

Yum yum yum. This scrub is both effective and smells like chocolaty bliss. I've been using it every three days and it has worked wonders. Goodbye, dry winter skin!

LUSH Mask of Magnaminty

I'm sure you've heard plenty of people rave about this divine product, and I have to agree. This mask of minty goodness both cleanses and exfoliates skin leaving it smooth, fresh, and clear. I adore it.

MISCELLANEOUS

Eco Tools Bath & Shower Gloves

Where have these gloves been all my life?! They provide my skin with a job well done, giving me the ability to really exfoliate using my (extensive) collection of bath and shower scrubs. Thank you to my aunt who gifted me with a pair!

NYC Nail Polish (Color: 246 Park Ave) 

The perfect color for this month! I'm utterly obsessed with it and I don't see myself using a different nail color any time soon.

Microwaveable Soup Cup

For some reason I've been craving soup throughout the entirety of January! Soup cups are literally a life savers, and they have become the cure to my January blues. They may also lead me to bankruptcy because I buy a new one almost every other day. You can generally find them anywhere, but I purchased this one at Marshalls.

Skeleton Hand Ear Cuff

I've always had a thing for ear cuffs, I like how you can wear them without permanently piercing a part of your ear. I got this specific ear cuff as a Christmas gift from one of my best friends, and I can't seem to take it off. It's super edgy and works well to spice up an outfit.

CLOTHING

Heeled Booties

These have become my favorite shoes. I swear I haven't stopped wearing them since I purchased them in late December. They're so comfortable and easy to walk in, plus I love the height boost they give me. I styled these boots with a dress an cardigan featured in my 'Winter-Inspired Outfit' post!

Vintage Abercrombie Crop Sweater (Purchased from a local thrift store)

I bought this sweater in the middle of the moth, and I can honestly admit that I wear it almost every day. There's just something about the colors and the cropped fit that compels me to wear it so often. Unfortunately, I bought it from a thrift shop and it's pretty old, so Abercrombie no longer sells it. So, I literally have no idea where you could find an exact replica. On the bright side, I'm sure there are plenty of sweaters that are similar to this that you can locate!

Sheer Black Tights

This winter I'm all about dresses, boots, and sheer tights. Throughout the majority of January I've been going through my stash of sheer black tights like a madwomen, wearing a pair almost every day. I love the idea of keeping my legs warm by covering them with tights, yet having them sheer enough for my skin to still be somewhat visible. Black is my preference, because it goes with almost everything and is a true dead-of-winter color.
