Online Zine, Need Contributors!

Hello everyone! I've been taking a well-needed hiatus from blogging for many, many reasons. However, I am now back and more inspired than ever. This being said, I have a proposition for all of you inspiring writers...

I have bought a website! I want to create a place with articles of all types, sort of like on online magazine, for people to peruse and be invigorated. Articles can include fashion, culture, music, advice and art!  My goal is for a writer/blogger to share what drives them, interests them, entertains them, and for a reader to discover that interest or entertainment through a variety of different articles! It's also to get people's voices, thoughts, and photography heard. 

Now, this part is important. The creation of this website is purely a fun idea/project I want to try out. If you submit an article, you won't be paid. However, your work may be viewed by a bunch of avid readers! This is in no way an official online magazine, it's just a new way to get our written work, photography, and poetry out there! There is no long-term commitment, and you can even submit articles anonymously if you wish! Also, keep in mind what you are submitting to, this is a small idea that may fail or fly: if it fails your article will not be seen by many, but if it flies you may reap the benefits!

Please feel free to email me, tweet me, or comment with any questions or inquiries about additional information! I'm very optimistic about this project and I think it will be a fun experiment. All I need is a litte participation and a pinch of luck...

#FACIALFRIDAY No. 1

Salutations, internet trolls! If you couldn't tell by the title of this post, it's Friday, and I am feeling really good. (I'm sorry in advance to everyone who is reading this on a weekday, Friday will come again soon enough!)

Friday nights are usually spent going out with friends, wearing loads of makeup, and eating really good food. Whenever I'm done doing whatever it is that I do, I like to slap on a face mask,  a face scrub, and/or some face cream. Basically, I like to give my face the congratulatory royal treatment in honor of making it through another long week. Then, a very obvious thought appeared in my jumbled mind: why don't I put this stuff on my blog! And would you look at that, I just did.

This means that every Friday I will be sharing a new product I really enjoy putting all over my face, and it shall be called Facial Friday. Yes. So, for all of you who like extra soft, clear, and radiant skin, keep reading.

The Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Mask from The Body Shop!

There's huge reasons as to why this is the first ever Facial Friday product! Not only does this mask leave my face feeling as soft as a baby's bottom, it also keeps my breakouts at bay, which is a huge deal for me. I like to apply it right after a shower, when my pores are open and ready to absorb what this mask has to offer. The product is called a deep cleansing mask, and that is no misnomer. Seriously guys, no face mask has ever made my skin feel so clean.

The formula is textured, so there's something in the mask that exfoliates. This means that you'll have to so say goodbye to your dry and flaky winter skin! Trust me, parting with the dead skin is no tragedy. It's actually quite freeing. I leave the mask on my face for ten minutes, then I scrub it into my skin (like a gentle maniac) to exfoliate. It feels like heaven but smells a little funky.

This mask is tailored to normal/oily skin, so I wouldn't recommend it if you have very dry skin as it may burn or damage you. Because my skin is very oily, I have no issues with it. I think that my skin type is one reason as to why the mask works so well on me, but a reminder that it may not work well for everyone. But, hey, take a risk! This may become your next "holy grail" product, like it is mine.

Finally, this mask is made by The Body Shop, one of my favorite brands ever. Their products literally never disappoint me, and this mask is no exception. Love, love love.

RED CHERRY EYELASHES: MY FAVORITE FALSIES

Hello, you lovely lot! Recently, my social life has been taking a turn for the better, and I find myself going out more and more on weekend evenings. This being said, I now have more excuses to explore new makeup looks. This experimentation has resulted in bold lips, dark brows, and lots of false eyelashes. Today, I wanted to share with you my favorite eyelash brand that I've come across so far: Red Cherry eyelashes.

Unlike the majority of false lash brands, the Red Cherry eyelashes have very, very thin bands. This was the original selling point for me. I've been through a plethora of lashes, the bulk of which have thick, obnoxious, black bands. I personally find that it's very difficult to hide these bands on my eyelash line without using a lot of dark eyeliner, so thin bands were a breath of (very) fresh air.

Now, lets acknowledge the elephant in the room. The Red Cherry lashes are made of 100% human hair. I know what you're thinking, what in the world does that mean!? After some frantic Google searching, I found that it is true, the lashes are literally made from hair. Don't get your knickers in a twist, the hair is unquestionably clean, and comes from people's heads. To be quite honest, I expected the hair to come from somewhere unwanted, but my fears have been dissolved. The human hair is actually very comfortable to wear, and gives the lashes an undeniably natural appearance (or as natural as false lashes can look!). 

Now, some words in regards to the product number 523. Red Cherry offers hundreds of lash styles that vary in length, color, style, and thickness. They are also sold in individual parts! I like the 523 lashes because they add a lot of length to my stubby lashes, but still have a natural effect. But don't get me wring, there are plenty of other styles I like too. These just work best for my not-so-glamorous nights out to dinner with friends or parties. If I were to go to a wedding or perhaps walk the Red Carpet (which is highly unlikely), I would opt for some thicker lashes. You can preview every style of lashes here! 

There are a profound number of ways to buy Red Cherry eyelashes. I buy mine in bulk from Amazon, but they are also sold though Ebay and plenty of cosmetics websites! Just make sure you know the product number for the specific lashes you want! And a fair warning: unlike a lot of lash brands, these don't come with an adhesive included. So if you don't own an eyelash glue, I suggest you purchase a bit before your lashes arrive!

Now that you've read an overview of Red Cherry's strong suits, it's very obvious as to why they are my favorite eyelash brand. They aren't typically the cheapest eyelashes available, but I think that they are completely worth their price. I get around five uses out of each pair on average, and they truly make a huge difference. I apply them after I have layered my actual eyelashes with some mascara, and they stay on all night! They are so comfortable and super elegant. I highly doubt that I'll be using any other eyelash brands any time soon.
